Hello, I’m Katy from The Sound Space and I am a qualified Sound Practitioner with the British Academy of Sound Therapy. In 2025 I completed my training and earned a Practitioner Level Diploma in Sound Therapy which allows me to work with both groups and individuals. This in depth training allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of therapeutic sound and how it affects us on an emotional, mental, physical and spiritual level. I use a combination of instruments such as crystal singing bowls, Himalayan singing bowls, gongs, drums and a variety of percussion instruments to create therapeutic soundscapes that are carefully designed to influence brainwave frequencies, which enable a person to enter an Altered State of Consciousness, similar to deep relaxation or meditation. These meditative states calm our nervous system and have been shown to help with stress, anxiety and bodily pain, whilst also encouraging emotional processing, learning and creativity.
I will be offering small group soundbaths of up to 10 people, including mixed instrument soundbaths, gongbaths and drum journeys, each of which have unique qualities. Additionally, in the near future I will be offering individual sound therapy, which involves working specifically with a person’s needs, using both sound and gentle reflective enquiry to help with a variety of difficulties, such as stress, anxiety, low mood and chronic pain.
Soundbaths are a place where we do not have ‘do’ or ‘be’ anything other than ourselves and where we are in that moment. I hope to provide a warm and empathic space where people are able to relax on a deeper level and explore aspects of self that may be difficult to access in the fast-paced world we now live in. I hope to see you in a soundbath soon.
